EAGE Annual 2024
In June 2024, we delivered the Bygdøy Museums Culinary Expedition as part of the social programme for EAGE Annual 2024 – the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers.
The evening brought delegates together across three of Norway’s most iconic museums on Bygdøy, where history, culture, and gastronomy were combined to create a truly immersive experience. Guests were taken on a journey through Norway’s rich maritime heritage and contemporary culinary traditions, set within some of the country’s most unique cultural surroundings.
The event offered a distinctive blend of storytelling, exploration, and dining, providing international attendees with an authentic and memorable introduction to Norwegian culture.

Guests moved between the museums, experiencing a series of culinary concepts inspired by the unique character of each venue. At the Kon-Tiki Museum, Mediterranean-inspired poke bowls paid tribute to Thor Heyerdahl’s legendary expeditions. The Norwegian Maritime Museum served traditional Norwegian fish burgers, celebrating the country’s rich coastal heritage, while the Fram Museum offered reindeer kebabs inspired by Norway’s polar exploration history. In addition, an outdoor grill station in the beautiful parkland between the museums served sausages wrapped in traditional potato flatbread. All dishes were prepared using Norwegian ingredients combined with international flavours.
We also managed a complex logistics operation to ensure a seamless guest experience, including the coordination of eight coaches and three passenger ferries transporting attendees from Aker Brygge to Bygdøynes. Entertainment was provided through both indoor and outdoor performances across two distinct thematic concepts, featuring musical performances by the Seamen’s Choir and guides dressed in traditional Norwegian bunad attire. The evening was further enhanced by a range of interactive activities, including a photo booth, treasure maps, and immersive theatrical experiences staged throughout the museum grounds.
